Bearded Bird Fitness & Nutrition is the chameleon of fitness coaching. Whether it’s at home, in the gym, or on a road trip, we help create strong, healthy lifestyles and end the need for fad workouts and diets. When people find themselves searching for a solution, they tend to look in all the wrong places. Bearded Bird Fitness and Nutrition uses the “key” of sustainability to open the door to successful fitness journeys.
My name is Zak Kanary. I’m a certified personal trainer (CPT), nutrition coach (Pn1), and Functional Nutrition and Metabolism Specialist (FNMS) with a master’s degree in public health (MPH). Before Bearded Bird, I spent the majority of my professional career serving children and adults with special needs. During that time, these amazing people taught me how to make the most out of each and every day and live life to the fullest.
This is why I choose to continue serving/helping people in a different capacity by creating Bearded Bird Fitness & Nutrition.
Since then, I’ve coached people at the gym, in their home, in my garage, and online. During that time, I’ve witnessed dozens of people change their lives for the better by facing their challenges, knocking down the barriers, and ultimately reaching their goals. This helped me understand how tapping into the true potential of each person can not only help improve their lives, but also the lives of those around them. This is the ultimate goal.

A one-time 30 min phone call where we discuss your past and current fitness/health journey and develop a plan to help get you on the right path
Each client is treated as an individual, including their specific goals and needs. So, rather than simply plugging them into a generalized program, we work together to create a custom program to fit their lifestyle.
All of the programming (personal training, nutrition protocols, food tracking, body measurements, progress pics, etc) is located on the Bearded Bird app - convenient and easy to use.
All of my 1-on-1 clients have access to me 24/7 (outside of sleeping and family time/activities via text, app messaging, and email. We also schedule weekly (or bi-weekly) phone calls to review the previous week(s) and set goals for the upcoming week(s). Communication is key in this process, so it is a main priority.
